About Magnify Church

Magnify Church is a three-campus evangelical church with Baptist roots, based in Rockford, Michigan. It began more than 50 years ago as Blythefield Hills Baptist Church, “started on hay bales,” and took the Magnify name in 2020. Today it gathers across its Rockford, Northview and Ensley campuses.

Magnify is “Gospel-centered and kingdom focused,” with practical Bible teaching, life-giving relationships and the hope of Jesus at the centre of everything. Its mission is simple: Always Making Disciples, bringing the hope of Jesus to the community and the world through prayer, loving actions and words.

The Ensley Campus sits beside the township hall on 120th Street, “surrounded by crop fields and filled with friendly faces.” It pairs the warmth and character of an old country church with modern worship and ministries for every age, and serves a stable, family-oriented rural community about 30 miles north of Grand Rapids.

Our Values

  • Worship — Gratitude for what God has done through Jesus fuels daily worship, with Sunday set apart to meet with God and his people.

  • Learn — Ongoing transformation through God’s Word: a commitment to keep growing, not coasting.

  • Relate — Honest community without pretense, where people admit their need for redemption and carry one another.

  • Serve — Every believer has a part in God’s work, and no role is too small.

  • Give — Time, talent and treasure belong to God, stewarded first through the local church.

  • Reach — Jesus alone is the hope of the world, shared through prayer, actions and words, from local to global.

What Magnify Believes

Magnify’s pastors, staff and volunteers all affirm the church’s Statement of Beliefs. It opens with a Narrative Confession of Faith that follows the storyline of Scripture, then a Founding Confession of Faith, statements on specific beliefs, and how the statement is applied.

Please read the full statement before you apply. Your CV / Resume should affirm it, or clearly outline any area where you differ.

The Narrative Confession, in Brief

  • God — One holy, sovereign and all-knowing God, eternally existing in three coequal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • Revelation — Scripture, the sixty-six books from Genesis to Revelation, is God-breathed, true, and our final authority in faith and life.

  • Creation — God created all things out of nothing, for his glory, and made humanity in his image.

  • Fall — Through Adam’s rebellion every person is born with a sinful nature, alienated from God and under his just condemnation.

  • Jesus Christ — Fully God and fully man, born of a virgin; his blood atoned for our sins and he rose bodily. Salvation is a gift of God, received by faith and not earned by works.

  • The Church — The local church gathers for the Word, prayer, fellowship, believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, and goes out to make disciples.

  • Consummation — Christ will return personally and gloriously to complete his kingdom, raise the dead for judgment, and renew all creation.
